Ken Dimmer recently gave up full time teaching to pursue his lifetime interest in photography. He first taught pottery to the Royal Army Pay Corp before training at King Alfred’s College, Winchester, to teach geography . He taught in Hampshire for over 30 years and was Manager of Learning, with responsibility for Special Needs in a comprehensive school, before resigning and launching his new career.

He is married to Barbara, who in her previous life was also a teacher and Head of a Hearing Impaired Unit, attached to a Junior School. Barbara is the organiser and keeps Ken’s enthusiasm in check. She has the unenviable task of making the cards sold in the shop. Ken is a keen sportsman and enjoys exploring new places and particularly loves coastal scenery and mountain landscapes. The photographic business has given him an excuse for more adventures!

Whilst he uses modern technology to take the image (SLR Digital) he has decided to hold firm to the principle that the skill and satisfaction is in taking a pleasing image, which is not going to be enhanced using the latest software package. The only manipulation sometimes carried out is in cropping an image to fit a frame.

Therefore the images you see have in no way been altered or ‘improved’ on the computer. Photographs can be up to A3 in size and will be produced to order if you require a different mount or frame. Since arriving in Bosham in February 2004 his photographs have been sent all over the world, ( USA, Paraguay and Australia to name but a few).

Please contact Ken if you want something quite specific.
